Ella Mae Morse war eine amerikanische Sängerin, die von 1924 bis 1999 lebte. Sie war bekannt für ihre vielseitige Gesangsstimme und ihre Fähigkeit, verschiedene Genres wie Pop, Jazz, Blues und Country zu interpretieren. In den 1940er und 1950er Jahren hatte sie mehrere erfolgreiche Hits, darunter "Cow-Cow Boogie" und "Blacksmith Blues".

"Old Gold presents Songs by Sinatra" war eine der populärsten Radio-Sendungen von "The Voice". "Night and Day" war die Eröffnungsnummer, "Put your dreams away" der Closer. Obwohl der Zweite Weltkrieg schon lange beendet war, nahm Sinatra immer noch "V-Discs" auf. Einige bemerkenswerte Songs entstanden in dieser Zeit: "I´ll never smile again" als Wiedervereinigung mit der Tommy Dorsey Band und The Pied Pipers, oder auch das wunderbare Duet mit Dinah Shore "My Romance" (23.01.1946). Die Show lief vom 12.09.1945 bis zum 04.06.1947 und war somit Sinatras erfolgreichste Radiosendung.
