„Too Much in Love“ stammt aus dem Soundtrack des United-Artists-Musicals „Song of the Open Road“ (1944). Das Lied wurde von Walter Kent komponiert und von Kim Gannon getextet. In der Filmversion wurde es von der Sängerin und Schauspielerin Ginny Simms interpretiert. Der Song erhielt 1945 eine Oscarnominierung in der Kategorie Bester Song, unterlag jedoch Jimmy Van Heusen und Johnny Burke mit ihrem Titel „Swinging on a Star“ aus dem Filmdrama „Der Weg zum Glück“ (Going My Way).

"Too Much in Love," a song from the 1944 film "Song of the Open Road," features music by Walter Kent and lyrics by Kim Gannon. In the film, the song is performed by Jackie Moran. In 1945, "Too Much in Love" received an Oscar nomination for "Best Song." However, the award was ultimately won by Jimmy Van Heusen and Johnny Burke for their song "Swinging on a Star" from the film drama "Going My Way."
Frank Sinatra performed "Too Much In Love" on May 31, 1944, on the radio show "The Frank Sinatra Program." To date, no other live recordings of this performance are known. The aforementioned recording was later released in "The Unheard Sinatra Vol. 1".
