"To Each His Own” wurde 1946 von Jay Livingston (Musik) und Ray Evans (Text) geschrieben. Es ist das Titellied des gleichnamigen Films und wurde von Paramount Music veröffentlicht. Ursprünglich sollte der Filmkomponist Victor Young das Lied schreiben, aber er lehnte ab, woraufhin das Duo Livingston und Evans beauftragt wurde. Eddy Howard erreichte mit seiner Version die Nummer eins der Billboard-Charts und auch Freddy Martin & sein Orchester mit Gesang von Stuart Wade und Tony Martin hatten beide ihre Versionen am 8. August 1946 in den Charts.

Initially, the task of composing the song was assigned to film composer Victor Young, who declined the offer. Consequently, the responsibility was handed over to the duo of Livingston and Evans.
