Billy Hill schuf 1933 den Country- und Western-Song "The Last Round-Up", der 1934 veröffentlicht wurde und von einer Vielzahl von Künstlern interpretiert wurde. George Olsen und sein Orchester nahmen das Lied als Erste auf, wobei Joe Morrison den Gesang übernahm. "The Last Round-Up" stieg sofort auf den ersten Platz und hielt sich dort für neun Wochen. Neben "The Last Round-Up" ist Billy Hill auch für andere Hits wie "They Cut Down the Old Pine Tree", "Wagon Wheels" und "Empty Saddles" bekannt.
Die Liedtexte beschreiben das letzte Abenteuer eines Cowboys, der sein Pferd ein letztes Mal sattelt und sich von seinem alten Freund verabschiedet. Der traditionelle Cowboy-Spruch “Git along little dogie, git along, git along” wird verwendet, um das Vieh zu treiben.
1944 trug Frank Sinatra "The Last Round-Up" in der Radiosendung "Command Performance #104" vor und wiederholte dies 1945 in seiner eigenen Radiosendung "The Frank Sinatra Show".

Billy Hill composed the country and western song "The Last Round-Up" in 1933. Released in 1934, the song has been performed by a multitude of artists. The first recording was by George Olsen and his Orchestra, with vocals provided by Joe Morrison. "The Last Round-Up" swiftly climbed to the top of the charts, where it remained for nine weeks. Billy Hill, the creator of the song, is also recognized for other hits such as "They Cut Down the Old Pine Tree," "Wagon Wheels," and "Empty Saddles."
The lyrics of the song narrate the final journey of a cowboy as he saddles his horse for the last time and bids farewell to his old friend. The traditional cowboy phrase "Git along little dogie, git along, git along" is used to herd the cattle.
Frank Sinatra performed "The Last Round-Up" in 1944 on the radio show "Command Performance #104" and reprised it in 1945 on his own radio show, "The Frank Sinatra Show."
