Sinatra und die Musik des Great American Songbook tauchen immer wieder in den Episoden und Filmen der Star Trek-Reihe auf. Im Folgenden sollen einige Beispiele dafür genannt werden:
Das bekannte Titelthema der Classic-Serie wurde von Loulie Jean Norman (12. März 1913 - 02.August 2005) gesungen. Norman wirkte unter anderem 1957 bei den Aufnahmen zu Sinatras Capitol-Album "A Jolly Christmas" und fünf Jahre später beim Reprise-Album "All Alone" (Soli in "All Alone" und "The Song is Ended") mit. 1964 war sie Mitglied der "Penssylvanians", mit denen Sinatra das Album "America, I Hear You Singing" aufnahm. Weiterhin ist sie im Backgroundchor zu den Liedern "When Somebody Loves You", "Tell Her You Love Her (Each Day)" (beide 1965), "My Shining Hour" und Street Of Dreams" (beide 1979, Trilogy) zu hören.

19x2 "Manhunt" (“Andere Sterne, Andere Sitten”): "Moonlight Serenade", "How High The Moon" und "Let's Get Away From It All".
DEEP SPACE NINE:
James Darren übernahm gegen Ende der sechsten Staffel der Serie die Rolle des singenden Hologramms "Vic Fontaine". Das Programm spielt in einem Casino im Stile des Las Vegas der 1960er Jahre und Vorbild für die Figur Fontaines war unweigerlich Frank Sinatra. Darren, der schon in den 60er Jahren einige Hits hatte zu einem Teenager-Idol wurde, ist der Pate von Angela Jennifer Lambert, der Tochter von Nancy Sinatra. Darren nahm zwei Alben mit Standards auf (siehe Links am Ende)
In den Folgenden Episoden singt er unter anderem:

15x7 "Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang" ("Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang"): Fernsehadaption von "Ocean's Eleven", Darren singt "The Best Is Yet To Come" im Duett mit Captain Sisko (Avery Brooks)
25x7 "What You Leave Behind" ("Das, Was Du Zürücklässt"): "The Way You Look Tonight".
VOYAGER:
In Voyager traten vor allem das medizinisch-holographische Notfallprogramm (MHN) alias Robert Picardo und Seven Of Nine (alias Jeri Ryan) durch Gesangsdarbietungen hervor:
04x18 "The Killing Game" ("Das Tötungsspiel"): 7of9 singt "That Old Black Magic" und "Oh, Would It Be Wrong?"
06x13 "Virtuoso" ("Der Virtuose"): MHN singt "That Old Black Magic"
STAR TREK VIII: FIRST CONTACT
Captain Picard betritt das Holodeck und schlüpft kurzzeitig in die Rolle eines Detektivs - im Hintergrund erklingt Burke/Van Heusens "Moonlight Becomes You"
STAR TREK X: NEMESIS
Data singt auf der Hochzeit von Riker und Troi den Irving Berlin-Klassiker "Blue Skies"
Die Darsteller
Brent Spiner (vielen besser bekannt als Data aus TNG) veröffentlichte 1995 ein durchaus hörenswertes Album mit dem Titel "Ol' Yellow Eyes Is Back" – eine CD mit Standards des Great American Songbooks.
Robert Picardo (MHN, VOY) hingegen zog es in die Comedy/Parody-Ecke und veröffentlichte zwei bissige CDs, unter den Liedern sind beispielsweise Parodien auf "I'll Be Home For Christmas" (I'll Be Sold For Christmas) oder "Someone To Watch Over Me" (A Cyborg To Watch Over Me).

The music of Sinatra and the Great American Songbook frequently graces the episodes and films of the Star Trek series. Here are some notable instances:
Loulie Jean Norman, born on March 12, 1913 and passed away on August 2, 2005, lent her voice to the iconic title theme of the classic series. She contributed to Sinatra's 1957 Capitol album "A Jolly Christmas" and later in 1962, she performed solos in "All Alone" and "The Song is Ended" on the Reprise album "All Alone". In 1964, she was part of the "Pennsylvanians", a group with whom Sinatra recorded the album "America, I Hear You Singing". Her voice can also be discerned in the background choir of the songs "When Somebody Loves You", "Tell Her You Love Her (Each Day)" (both from 1965), and "My Shining Hour" and "Street Of Dreams" (both from the 1979 album Trilogy).

DEEP SPACE NINE:
James Darren took on the role of the singing hologram "Vic Fontaine" towards the end of the sixth season of the series. The program is set in a casino in the style of 1960s Las Vegas and the role model for the character Fontaine was inevitably Frank Sinatra. Darren, who had several hits in the 1960s and became a teen idol, is the godfather of Angela Jennifer Lambert, the daughter of Nancy Sinatra. Darren recorded two albums of standards (see links at the end)

Data sings the Irving Berlin classic "Blue Skies" at Riker and Troi's wedding
The Cast
Brent Spiner, who is widely recognized for his role as Data in TNG, unveiled an album in 1995 titled "Ol' Yellow Eyes Is Back". This album, featuring standards from the Great American Songbook, is certainly a worthwhile listen.
In contrast, Robert Picardo, known for his role as EMH in VOY, ventured into the realm of comedy and parody. He released two satirical CDs that included song parodies such as "I'll Be Home For Christmas" (reimagined as "I'll Be Sold For Christmas") and "Someone To Watch Over Me" (humorously retitled as "A Cyborg To Watch Over Me").
