The Frank Sinatra Show (1957 - 1958)

The Frank Sinatra Show (ABC)

Frank Sinatra & The McGuire Sisters

15.11.1957

Shows aufzunehmen.

Note:
In this episode Sinatra opens singing "South of the Border" to a group of admiring showgirls. Later, he's joined by English singer Jeannie Carson in a record shop sketch, where she and regular heckler Clifford (Jesse White) compete to get Sinatra's autograph, and he agrees to teach her how to sing like him and sound American. Meanwhile, Clifford keeps bothering Sinatra, mistaking him for "Sol Mineo." Sinatra sings Cole Porter's "From This Moment On" in an outstanding rendition, as well as "Witchcraft" and "Wishing On a Star." Jeannie Carson learns how to pronounce words American-style ("mudda, fodda etc.") and sings "Them There Eyes."

Hollywood

Songs:

Note: Sinatra was originally set to co-star opposite Shirley Jones in the film version of Carousel in 1955. Sinatra left the production when he learned every scene would have to be filmed twice - once for the Cinemascope cameras and again for Cinemascope 55 cameras. Sinatra figured he ought to be paid twice since he was, in effect, making two movies. Sinatra had already been fitted for his costumes and started prerecording the score by the time he left at the start of filming. He was replaced by Gordon MacRae.
